What does Daniel 4:26 mean?
King Nebuchadnezzar had a terrifying dream about a great tree being cut down, and Daniel is interpreting what it means. The stump left in the ground is God's way of saying the king's restoration isn't permanent destruction, just a season of humbling. After years of living like an animal, stripped of his mind and dignity, Nebuchadnezzar will be restored to his throne, but only after he learns the hard lesson that God—not he—ultimately runs the world.
