What does Daniel 4:22 mean?

The prophet Daniel is speaking to King Nebuchadnezzar, interpreting a troubling dream that revealed God's perspective on the king's pride. Daniel acknowledges the king's genuine power and success, which makes the warning that follows even more significant, because the dream itself foreshadows the king's downfall. What looks like unstoppable strength and reach, stretching to the heavens and across the earth, is actually fragile when built on pride rather than humility before God. The message to Nebuchadnezzar, and to us, is that even our most impressive accomplishments need to be held with open hands, not clenched fists, because they ultimately come from God and can be removed by him.
