Daniel 2:47

The king answered to Daniel, and said, “Of a truth your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.”

What does Daniel 2:47 mean?

King Nebuchadnezzar had been tormented by a dream he couldn't remember, and he'd demanded that his wise men both describe it and interpret it, threatening them with death if they failed. Daniel, through prayer and God's revelation, did exactly what seemed impossible. When the king witnesses this, he recognizes something beyond human cleverness at work, and he honors both Daniel and the God behind him. His words acknowledge that Daniel's God operates on a different level entirely, answering impossible requests and knowing hidden things. This moment shows how genuine encounters with God's power can shift a person's perspective, even someone as proud and powerful as a Babylonian king, moving them toward at least temporary humility and awe.
