Daniel 11:14
““In those times many will stand up against the king of the south. Also the children of the violent among your people will lift themselves up to establish the vision; but they will fall.”
What does Daniel 11:14 mean?
This passage speaks to turbulent times when the king of the south (a ruler of Egypt in this prophecy) will face multiple threats to his power. Importantly, it describes how some people from God's own community will pursue their own ambitious visions through violence or force, thinking they're establishing God's plan, but their efforts will ultimately fail. The deeper message here is about the danger of taking matters into our own hands, especially when we dress up our own desires in religious language. When we're impatient with God's timing or convinced we know better than he does, we risk becoming like those "violent children" who believe they're doing the right thing but are actually working against God's purposes.
