Daniel 10:8

So I was left alone, and saw this great vision. No strength remained in me; for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

What does Daniel 10:8 mean?

Daniel was alone when he received this overwhelming vision of heavenly realities, and the experience left him physically and emotionally undone. He's describing what happens when someone encounters something so far beyond their normal experience that their body simply can't process it—his face grew pale, his knees buckled, and he felt drained of all energy. It's honest language about spiritual encounter that can shake us to our core, reminding us that genuine meetings with God's presence often leave us feeling smaller and more vulnerable than before, not stronger. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by grief, awe, or crisis, you might recognize that sensation of your legs giving out or the world suddenly looking uncertain.
