What does Colossians 1:13 mean?
God has rescued us from living under the control of darkness and moved us into the kingdom of his beloved Son. The language of being "translated" or moved from one place to another suggests a real shift in allegiance and power, not just a change in our thinking. When we come to faith, we're no longer defined by the spiritual forces that once held us captive, but by our belonging to Christ and his reign. This is encouraging news when life feels heavy or when we struggle with habits or fears that once seemed impossible to escape.
