Amos 9:2

What does Amos 9:2 mean?
When Amos says this, he's speaking to people trying to escape God's judgment through any means possible, whether by hiding in the deepest places or reaching for the highest ones. The image captures something true about human nature: we sometimes believe we can run far enough or hide well enough that God won't find us, that our schemes can outmaneuver divine justice. What Amos is saying is that there's nowhere that puts us beyond God's reach or awareness, no escape route that actually works. This isn't meant as a threat to crush the spirit, but rather an honest statement that avoidance doesn't solve what's broken between us and God, and that turning toward Him is ultimately our only real option.
