Amos 2:11
“I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazirites. Isn’t this true, you children of Israel?” says Yahweh.”
What does Amos 2:11 mean?
God is reminding Israel of the spiritual leaders he graciously provided for them, people set apart to speak his word and live devoted lives. He's pointing out that despite these gifts, the people have turned away from him, and he's asking them directly: don't you remember this? It's the voice of someone who has consistently shown up for his people, now asking them to acknowledge what they've been given and what they've lost through their own choices. The question at the end carries both disappointment and an appeal—he's inviting them to remember and reconsider before it's too late.
