What does Acts 9:8 mean?
After his dramatic encounter with the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus, Saul is physically blind, though the text doesn't immediately explain why. He gets up from the ground disoriented and sightless, completely dependent on others to guide him. His companions lead him by the hand into the city, where he'll spend three days in darkness, fasting and praying. This moment captures Saul at his most vulnerable. The man who had been hunting down Christians with confident authority is now helpless and uncertain, led like a child into an unfamiliar place. Many people find comfort in this scene because it shows how transformation often begins in confusion and weakness, not in moments of clarity. Sometimes we have to be brought low and stripped of our certainty before we're truly ready to see things differently.
