Acts 7:34
“I have surely seen the affliction of my people that is in Egypt, and have heard their groaning. I have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you into Egypt.’”
What does Acts 7:34 mean?
God is speaking to Moses at the burning bush, reminding him that He has noticed the suffering of the enslaved Israelites and heard their cries for help. Rather than remaining distant or indifferent, God says He's taking action to rescue them. Then comes the challenging part: God tells Moses he's the one who will be sent to lead this rescue, even though Moses feels inadequate and afraid. This passage offers real comfort for anyone going through hardship. It affirms that God sees what you're enduring and truly hears you, not as distant background noise but as something He takes seriously. At the same time, it suggests that God often works through ordinary people to bring about deliverance, which means He might be calling you into something difficult precisely because He trusts you with it. Your weakness doesn't disqualify you from His purposes, it just means the victory will clearly be His work, not yours.
