What does Acts 7:29 mean?
When Moses realized the Egyptians knew he'd killed a man to defend a Hebrew slave, he ran for his life. He escaped to Midian, a region southeast of Egypt where he found safety and built an entirely new life, marrying and raising a family there. For forty years he lived as an outsider, tending sheep and raising his sons far from everything he'd known growing up as an Egyptian prince. This quiet period of exile shaped him in ways that would matter when God later called him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, teaching him humility and dependence on God rather than on his own power or status.
