Acts 5:16
“The multitude also came together from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick people, and those who were tormented by unclean spirits: and they were all healed.”
What does Acts 5:16 mean?
In the early days after Jesus rose and sent his Holy Spirit, the apostles became channels for remarkable healing. People from surrounding towns heard what was happening and brought their suffering loved ones, hoping for relief from illness and spiritual oppression. Luke reports that everyone who came was healed, revealing both the apostles' genuine authority and the hunger people felt for hope when faced with conditions that had no other remedy. It's a picture of what drew people to the early church: not impressive buildings or programs, but the concrete experience of being made whole.
