What does Acts 4:4 mean?

After Peter's bold speech to the Jerusalem authorities, something remarkable happened: thousands of people who heard the message about Jesus decided to follow him. This verse captures a pivotal moment when the early church suddenly grew from about 120 believers to five thousand men (likely meaning five thousand men plus women and children, so the actual number was even larger). What's striking is the simplicity of it: people heard the message, believed it, and joined the movement, despite the real danger of standing against religious and political powers. It reminds us that the early church grew not through force or manipulation, but through genuine conviction that Jesus was who he claimed to be.
