What does Acts 4:35 mean?

In the early days after Jesus rose, believers were so committed to each other that they sold their possessions and brought the money to the apostles, who then made sure everyone had what they needed to survive. This wasn't forced communism, but a voluntary overflow of generosity coming from their deep sense that they belonged to one another. The phrase "laid them at the apostles' feet" shows both trust in leadership and humility, placing resources where they could do the most good. What makes this beautiful is the phrase "according as anyone had need," meaning the distribution wasn't equal or mechanical, but thoughtful, responding to real hunger and real hardship among them.
