What does Acts 27:15 mean?
Paul and his companions are on a ship heading to Rome when a violent storm suddenly hits. The vessel gets caught by the wind and becomes impossible to steer—they literally cannot point the boat into the wind to fight against it. Rather than exhaust themselves in a futile struggle, they make the practical choice to stop resisting and let the wind push them where it will. This moment captures something true about hard circumstances: sometimes the wisest thing isn't to keep fighting harder, but to accept what you cannot control and adjust your course. It doesn't mean giving up hope—they're still on the ship, still alive, still moving forward—but it means surrendering to reality instead of wearing yourself out against impossible odds.
