What does Acts 26:24 mean?
Festus, the Roman governor listening to Paul's passionate account of his encounter with Jesus, interrupts with frustration and dismissal. Paul had been speaking about his dramatic conversion experience and his conviction that Jesus rose from the dead, and to Festus, it all sounded like the ramblings of an educated man who had lost his grip on reality. Sometimes when we share something deeply meaningful about our faith with someone who doesn't share it, we face this same kind of response: the assumption that devotion must equal delusion, or that spiritual conviction is just intellectual overload.
