What does Acts 23:22 mean?
A young man—Paul's nephew—had just warned the Roman commander about a plot to kill Paul. The commander recognized the danger immediately and decided to act. By telling the nephew to keep quiet about this conversation, the officer was being strategic: if the conspirators didn't know their plan had been discovered, they wouldn't adjust their approach, making it easier to catch them in the act and protect Paul.
