What does Acts 21:35 mean?

Paul had been seized by an angry mob in Jerusalem who wanted to kill him, and Roman soldiers had to physically intervene to protect his life. The crowd was so violent and chaotic that the soldiers literally had to carry Paul up the stairs leading to their fortress, holding him above the fray so the people couldn't reach him. This moment shows both how much opposition Paul faced for his faith and how God used unexpected means (Roman soldiers, of all people) to keep him alive. Sometimes when we're in the midst of overwhelming circumstances, help comes from sources we wouldn't expect.
