What does Acts 21:25 mean?
The early church faced a real tension: Jewish followers of Jesus kept the Old Testament laws, but non-Jewish believers didn't. This verse captures a compromise the apostles reached so both groups could worship together. Rather than requiring all Gentiles to follow Jewish dietary and purity laws, the leaders asked them to avoid just a few specific things, mostly around food sacrificed to idols and sexual behavior.
