What does Acts 20:7 mean?
The early church gathered on Sunday morning to share a meal together and remember Jesus through breaking bread (what we now call communion). Paul had come to visit these believers in Troas, and sensing his time with them was short, he spent the entire evening teaching and talking with them—talking so long that one young man in the room actually fell asleep in a window and tumbled out (the story continues just after this verse). What strikes many readers is the combination of intimacy and urgency here: Paul wasn't rushing through a formal service but staying late into the night because these relationships and this community mattered deeply to him. It's a beautiful picture of early Christians prioritizing time together around both food and faith.
