What does Acts 2:44 mean?
In the earliest days after Pentecost, believers in Jerusalem shared everything they owned with one another, making sure no one in their community lacked what they needed. This wasn't based on a rule or command, but grew naturally from their joy at encountering the risen Jesus and their deep sense of belonging to something larger than themselves. They saw their possessions as less important than their relationships and their shared mission. While this particular practice of pooling all resources didn't become the standard pattern for churches everywhere, it shows us what's possible when people truly prioritize caring for one another over personal accumulation.
