What does Acts 17:15 mean?
Paul has just escaped Berea (a city in northern Greece) because troublemakers from Thessalonica came to stir up opposition against him. His companions wisely get him to safety in Athens, a major city further south. Before leaving him there, Paul sends word back to Silas and Timothy—his trusted co-workers—asking them to join him as soon as they can. What's tender about this moment is that Paul doesn't stay isolated even when he's had to flee danger. He immediately wants his team around him. It shows us that even strong leaders need community, especially during uncertain or difficult seasons. The urgency in his request ("very quickly") hints at how much he values these relationships and how much he may have been processing the rejection he'd just faced.
