Acts 15:41
βHe went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the assemblies.β
What does Acts 15:41 mean?
Paul is traveling from place to place after a significant disagreement with Barnabas about whether to give John Mark a second chance on their missionary journey. Rather than let conflict stop the work, Paul chooses to visit the churches already established in the regions of Syria and Cilicia (areas in what's now Turkey and Syria), going to encourage and strengthen them in their faith. The verse shows us that even when plans fall apart or people disagree, the larger mission of caring for believers continues. It's a quiet reminder that pastoral work, the steady tending of people's spiritual lives, is just as vital as launching new initiatives.
