Acts 15:36
“After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return now and visit our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing.””
What does Acts 15:36 mean?
Paul wants to go back and check on the young churches they'd planted together on their first missionary journey. He's thinking practically about spiritual care, knowing that new believers need encouragement and someone to help them work through questions or struggles that have come up since Paul and Barnabas left. There's real tenderness in this desire to simply see "how they are doing," treating these distant churches like a pastor would check on members of his own flock. It's a good reminder that following Jesus doesn't end when the initial excitement fades, but requires sustained love and attention from those who care.
