Acts 15:27
βWe have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth.β
What does Acts 15:27 mean?
The apostles in Jerusalem have just written an important letter settling a dispute about which Jewish practices new Christian converts need to follow. Rather than rely only on the written word, they're sending Judas and Silas as trusted messengers who can answer questions, offer context, and help the receiving church understand the decision more fully. It's a reminder that sometimes the hardest conversations need both clarity in writing and the warmth of real human presence to be truly understood.
