What does Acts 15:24 mean?
The early church leaders are writing to clear up confusion caused by some believers who had been insisting that non-Jewish converts must follow Jewish laws, especially circumcision. These troublemakers were claiming to speak for the apostles in Jerusalem, but the apostles are explicitly saying they never gave any such instruction. The leaders wanted to reassure these new believers that they hadn't been given a burden that wasn't theirs to carry.
