What does Acts 14:24 mean?

Paul and Barnabas are traveling through Asia Minor on their first missionary journey, moving from region to region to share the good news and strengthen new churches. This simple verse marks a geographical transition as they journeys south from the inland region of Pisidia down to the coastal area of Pamphylia. Though it reads like a quick travel note, it reminds us that spreading faith required real effort, real miles covered, and real courage to venture into unfamiliar places. Sometimes the most important spiritual work happens in the unglamorous in-between spaces, just showing up in the next town with a message of hope.
