Acts 13:39

What does Acts 13:39 mean?
Paul is telling his listeners something liberating: through Jesus, believers are declared righteous and set free from guilt in a way that keeping the Jewish law simply couldn't accomplish. The law was good at showing people what sin looked like, but it couldn't actually cleanse them or make them right with God. Jesus does what the law couldn't do—he offers complete forgiveness and a fresh start to anyone who trusts in him. This was radical news to people who had spent their whole lives trying to earn God's approval through obedience to religious rules.
