Acts 13:34
““Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’”
What does Acts 13:34 mean?
Paul is telling the crowd that when God raised Jesus from death, it was permanent and final, unlike the temporary returns to life we see elsewhere in Scripture. He's quoting from Isaiah to show that Jesus fulfills the promises God made to King David about an everlasting covenant. The "holy and sure blessings of David" aren't about earthly power or a throne in Jerusalem, but about a relationship with God that lasts forever and can never be undone. This connects Jesus directly to the hopes and promises woven throughout the Old Testament, showing that what God began with David finds its completion and permanence in the resurrection.
