What does Acts 12:15 mean?
When Rhoda the servant girl kept insisting that Peter was actually at the door (after he'd been miraculously released from prison), the disciples inside dismissively told her she was out of her mind. Rather than believe their imprisoned friend could suddenly be free, they jumped to a supernatural explanation: maybe it was Peter's angel, a spiritual double or heavenly guardian appearing in his form. This moment captures something beautifully human about faith. These were believers who had witnessed miracles, yet when something wonderful actually happened, their first response was skepticism. They found it easier to imagine an angel than to trust that God had acted on their prayers. It's a gentle reminder that sometimes we can talk about faith while still struggling to actually expect God to move in our lives, even when that's exactly what we're asking Him to do.
