What does Acts 11:29 mean?
When Christians in Antioch heard that believers in Judea were facing a severe famine, they didn't just offer prayers and good wishes. Each person who had resources decided personally to contribute something to help their brothers and sisters survive, and they organized to send that relief. This shows what early generosity looked like: it was voluntary (no one was forced), it was proportional to what people actually had, and it was practical help during a real crisis. It's a picture of a community that took seriously the idea that their faith meant something concrete in how they treated each other, especially when distance and hardship meant the difference between surviving and suffering.
