What does Acts 10:48 mean?
Peter had just witnessed something extraordinary: the Holy Spirit falling on these Gentile believers in the same way he'd seen it happen at Pentecost. Baptism was the natural next step, the outward sign that sealed what God had already done inwardly. By commanding baptism in Jesus' name, Peter was formally welcoming them into the Christian community, declaring them full members of God's family. What's beautiful here is what happens after. These new believers didn't want Peter to rush off. They asked him to stay with them, to teach them more, to be part of their lives for a while longer. It shows how the gift of faith naturally creates hunger for deeper relationship and understanding. When we encounter God's grace, we want to linger in it, to learn more, to let it transform us gradually rather than all at once.
