“Send therefore to Joppa, and summon Simon, who is also called Peter. He lodges in the house of a tanner named Simon, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.’”
What does Acts 10:32 mean?
Cornelius, a Roman centurion, has just received a vision from God telling him to find Peter. This message comes after Peter himself has been having visions challenging his understanding of what God accepts. Cornelius doesn't hesitate, immediately sending servants to Joppa to bring Peter to his home in Caesarea. What makes this remarkable is that Cornelius is a Gentile (non-Jewish), and Peter would normally never enter a non-Jewish home or eat with such people.
