What does Acts 10:23 mean?
Peter's willingness to welcome these messengers into his home—and then to travel with them the next morning—marks a quiet but significant shift in his thinking. Just the day before, he'd had a vision challenging his understanding of what was clean or acceptable, and now he's putting it into practice by opening his doors and his time to people he might have previously avoided. The companions from Joppa who joined him were witnesses to this moment, which mattered because what Peter was about to do (visit and minister to a Roman centurion) would have raised eyebrows in the Jerusalem church. Having these brothers there meant Peter wouldn't be going alone into unfamiliar territory, both literally and spiritually. Sometimes faithfulness looks like a simple yes, a night's hospitality, and a willingness to walk toward the next thing God is asking, even when it's uncomfortable.
