What does Acts 1:21 mean?
Peter is speaking to the early church as they gather to replace Judas, who betrayed Jesus. He's describing what qualifications someone should have if they're going to be an apostle, a witness who can tell others about Jesus' life and resurrection. The phrase "went in and out among us" is an everyday way of saying someone was constantly present, sharing in all the ordinary and extraordinary moments of Jesus' ministry. Peter is essentially saying: whoever takes Judas's place needs to be someone who was actually there, who lived alongside Jesus, and can speak from real knowledge and experience.
