Acts 1:16
““Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.”
What does Acts 1:16 mean?
Peter is explaining to the early believers why Judas's betrayal, though devastating, had actually been written about long ago in the Psalms. He's not saying that God forced Judas to betray Jesus, but rather that God's plan encompassed even this dark moment, and Scripture had already spoken of it. This would have been comforting to the disciples, who were reeling from the shock of Judas's actions and death, reminding them that nothing had caught God off guard.
