2 Timothy 2:9

in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God’s word isn’t chained.

What does 2 Timothy 2:9 mean?

Paul is writing from prison, literally bound by chains for preaching the gospel. He wants Timothy to understand that while his body is confined and his freedom restricted, the message he's devoted his life to can never be contained or stopped. No amount of suffering, imprisonment, or opposition can lock up the truth of God or prevent it from reaching people's hearts. It's a powerful reminder that our circumstances, no matter how limiting, don't have the final say over God's purposes or the power of his word to transform lives.
