What does 2 Timothy 1:11 mean?

Paul is reflecting on the specific calling God gave him, reminding Timothy (and himself) that his whole life's work wasn't accidental or self-chosen. He's saying: "This is what I was made for—to bring God's message to people, to establish new communities of faith, and to help them understand what it all means." It's a statement of purpose and also of acceptance, as if he's saying he's at peace with how God shaped his life, even though that calling often brought him hardship. For anyone wrestling with their own direction or gifts, there's something anchoring about recognizing that we too have been given particular callings, even when the path gets difficult.
