What does 2 Thessalonians 3:14 mean?
Paul is addressing a real problem in the Thessalonian church: some people were refusing to follow the guidance he'd given them in his letters, possibly living idle lives while expecting others to support them. His instruction here is to notice who these people are and withdraw from casual fellowship with them, not out of cruelty but as a wake-up call. The goal isn't permanent exile from the community, but creating enough discomfort that the person reconsiders their choices and gets back on track. It's a form of loving correction, though certainly a firm one, meant to restore rather than punish forever.
