What does 2 Samuel 22:26 mean?
David is describing how God mirrors our own character back to us. When we approach God with a genuine, open heart, He meets us with the same warmth and generosity. When we strive toward integrity and wholeness, we experience Him as faithful and complete in return. This doesn't mean God's mercy depends on us earning it, but rather that our posture shapes how we experience and receive what He offers. Someone hardened and closed off won't feel God's gentleness the way someone tender and receptive will.
