What does 2 Samuel 21:7 mean?
David faced intense pressure to execute Mephibosheth as part of resolving a famine, yet he chose mercy instead. His reason was simple: he had made a sacred promise to Jonathan years earlier, and that covenant mattered more than political convenience or current circumstances.
