What does 2 Samuel 16:3 mean?
David is asking Ziba about Mephibosheth, the son of his former rival Saul, while David himself is fleeing Jerusalem during a rebellion. Ziba seizes this moment to turn the king against Mephibosheth by claiming he's staying behind in the city hoping to reclaim the throne now that David's power looks weakened.
