What does 2 Samuel 10:6 mean?
When the Ammonites realized they'd deeply offended David through their mistreatment of his messengers, they panicked and scrambled to build military alliances before facing consequences. They hired multiple Syrian forces and neighboring armies, assembling a massive coalition of mercenaries and allies (roughly thirty-three thousand soldiers combined) to stand against David's power.
