2 Peter 3:15
“Regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote to you;”
What does 2 Peter 3:15 mean?
Peter is reminding his readers that God's patience isn't a sign of indifference or weakness, but rather an expression of his desire to save us. He's saying that every moment we're given to turn toward God, to grow, or to find our way back is part of his saving work in our lives. He then points to Paul as someone who understood this same truth and wrote about it with genuine wisdom. Peter is essentially saying: look at what our brother Paul taught you about this, because he got it right. There's something both comforting and sobering here, the comfort being that God keeps the door open for us, and the sobering part being the recognition that this patience is actually an invitation to change, not a forever pass to ignore what matters.
