What does 2 Kings 5:19 mean?

Naaman, a powerful military commander, has just been healed of leprosy through the prophet Elisha, and he's grateful. But he's also conflicted, and so Elisha sends him off with these simple words: "Go in peace." It's a blessing, a release, permission to return home without shame. Sometimes the kindest thing we can do for someone wrestling with doubts or uncertainty is to let them go with our goodwill intact, trusting that their journey toward full faith or understanding isn't over. That phrase "departed from him a little way" suggests Naaman hasn't entirely left his questions behind, but he's moving forward anyway, and that's enough.
