What does 2 Kings 23:28 mean?
This closing statement appears at the end of Josiah's story and does something quite common in the historical books of the Bible: it points readers to another source document. The chronicles mentioned here were official court records that tracked the deeds of Judah's kings, and this verse acknowledges that Josiah's full record was preserved there. What's meaningful beneath the surface is that the Bible itself doesn't claim to tell us everything. The writer is essentially saying, "If you want the complete picture of this king's life and accomplishments, there's more information available elsewhere." It's a humble reminder that Scripture focuses on what matters most spiritually, not necessarily every detail of a ruler's reign.
