What does 2 Kings 19:7 mean?
God is speaking through the prophet Isaiah to King Hezekiah about the Assyrian king Sennacherib, who has been threatening Jerusalem. The promise here has two parts: first, something will make Sennacherib anxious enough to leave and go back home, and second, he'll meet his end there by violence. It's God's way of saying, "This threat you're facing won't destroy you, but the one threatening you will face his own destruction."
