What does 2 Kings 19:21 mean?
When the Assyrian army seemed unstoppable and Jerusalem felt utterly trapped, the prophet Isaiah delivered this bold reassurance from God. The "virgin daughter of Zion" and "daughter of Jerusalem" are poetic ways of describing the city itself, personified as a young woman who will not be conquered or defiled. God is saying that Jerusalem, though surrounded and threatened, will have the last laugh, actually mocking her enemy's failed invasion rather than being defeated by it.
