What does 2 Kings 13:6 mean?
Even when God showed mercy and delivered Israel from their enemies, the people kept clinging to the same broken patterns they'd always followed. Jeroboam had set up false worship centuries earlier, and generations later his descendants were still trapped in those habits, worshipping idols like the Asherah pole instead of turning to God. The verse captures something painful but familiar: we can experience God's help and kindness and still choose not to change our deepest patterns. Sometimes we need rescue from our circumstances far more than we actually want to be transformed.
