What does 2 Kings 1:15 mean?

When Elijah receives this command, he's already called down fire from heaven twice on the king's soldiers, and understandably, he might be anxious about meeting the king himself. God's messenger reassures him that there's no reason to fear this confrontation, even after such dramatic displays of power. The angel's simple instruction, "Don't be afraid of him," reminds Elijah that his real authority comes from God, not from the king's position or anger. In that moment of obedience, Elijah rises and goes—moving from a place of apprehension into faithful action, knowing he's not facing this alone.
